Update 10/20: I'm going to be happy yet sad when these two love bugs get adopted. Dawn and Dinah Shore have been a blessing in my household. My 4 year old Shane always hugs and kisses both these girls and says he loves them. Hunter is not even 2 yrs old but both girls are gentle with him as he is with them. Both walk easy on a leash, no harness, walk straight. know commands of sit, up and stay. Dawn no longer tries to bolt out the front door. They are both excited to greet you when you come home. They are very loving dogs and are perfect for a family with children. Crate trained and house trained to boot! What more can you ask? If I didn't own 3, I'd adopt these 2 in a heartbeat! Both available for adoption. *********************************************** Update 10/15 from Dawn's foster: Another family dog aka love bug alert. Dawn is so loving with humans especially children. Does not bark at all. Loves to be petted and get belly rubs. She gets so excited to see you she jumps up with her paws to hug you around the shoulders. Just like Dinah Shore, they both love to snuggle with children. She looks like a jack Russell with a beagle body. The softest fur. She is a lap dog. Available for adoption. ************************************************ Original post: We have come to understand about Dawn and what I think she needs in a forever home. Dawn doesn't have any major issues, but she is a jumper and has no fear. She jumped out of a treehouse at her last foster and given the chance she will jump out of a car window. She is high energy and then crashes for a nap. She needs a lot of attention...hugs and kisses. She should always be harnessed when out walking (and use double leash w/ one attached to her collar) as she is a little escape artist. But she's really smart. She needs a young family and a fenced in yard. She is not really shy at all. I've had no problem. She adores Michael and was great with my husband the few hours she was here. She gets along well with other dogs. When I see her at Dog Holiday she is always running around with pups her size. She's a really special little girl and deserves the perfect home. Transport volunteer who has spent alot of time w/ Dawn !! **************************************** Update 9/7: Dawn is in boarding awaiting a foster or furever home. She has a sweet and bubbly personality. She is tall and lean, only about 25-30 lbs full grown. She is fast and would love a fenced yard to run around in. She is a really nice dog and needs a home. Update 8/18: The puppies Are almost 6 weeks old! They are using the puppy pads most of the time when indoors.. They do go to the bathroom every time if taken out. They are sweet and lovable puppies... They Are used to baths and snuggling. Dawn is a wonderful dog! She is however a jumper.. She loves attention and sleeping with someone. She does not like to be left alone. She would prefer of someone were home all day with her. She is good on a leash but needs a big place to run. she is however in a chewing phase... She is house trained. She is wonderful with kids and women. It takes her time to get used to men and teenage boys. Dawn and her 3 tiny babies (estimated to be born around July 1st) were pulled from a small rural shelter on their last day. Dawn is a petite beauty. She will be with her babies until they are 7-8 weeks old, at which time they will be available for adoption. Once Dawn has recovered from nursing she will be spayed and looking for her new home as well. (update: one of Dawn's babies had a birth defect and did not grow. RIP sweet Dunkin. You were loved).
